High-Growth / Venture
$50M–$750M in Revenue | VC or Growth-Equity Backed | Tech & SaaS
High-growth companies often reach a point where the finance function must catch up to the business. Atlas Row supports VC- and growth-equity-backed organizations by providing senior-level leadership to professionalize reporting, strengthen controls, and prepare the finance organization for scale.
Your Reality
Revenue has outpaced the finance function. Month-end close is slow and inconsistent, data reliability is uneven, and controls are still maturing. As audit and investor scrutiny increase, the team is stretched and existing processes are no longer sufficient for the company’s scale.
Leadership needs timely, accurate reporting — but the finance function was never designed for this level of growth.

Case Study: Accelerating Month-End Close and Unlocking Capital for a High-Growth Sports Tech Firm
How Atlas Row Delivered Speed, Accuracy, and Confidence for a Sports Entertainment Technology Company
Client Profile & Challenge
A Sports Entertainment Technology company underwent extraordinary growth, scaling its revenue from $50 million to $750 million in just four years. In anticipation of a strategic exit or major partnership transaction, a new CFO was brought in with a primary mandate: to prepare the organization for this pivotal event. The upcoming first-time Big 4 audit was a critical step in ensuring credibility and compliance for the transaction.
Despite the company’s success, the finance function was unable to keep pace. The month-end close was plagued by errors and regularly extended past 30 days, producing untimely and unreliable data. The CFO, seeking granular visibility and risk mitigation, had lost confidence in the Controller’s leadership. With the audit and transaction looming, the organization faced significant compliance challenges and data integrity risks.
Atlas Row’s Approach
Atlas Row was engaged to implement a hands-on, collaborative transformation—focused not only on lasting fixes but on empowering the finance team for sustainable success. In partnership with the CFO and key stakeholders, our approach included:
Operational Diagnostic: Secured direct access to financial systems to observe the month-end close in real time, tracking journal entry metadata and pinpointing inefficiencies and prior-period misstatements.
Process Mapping & Remediation: Led close meetings, mapped processes, and worked closely with staff to shift tasks into the “pre-close” period, thereby reducing bottlenecks and improving accuracy. Developed a “Before and After” Gantt chart to visualize critical path improvements.
Technology & Governance: Created a future-focused automation roadmap using NetSuite for ERP optimization, established real-time KPIs for monitoring Accounts Payable and close progress, and implemented a standard close calendar to enhance information flow.
Institutionalizing Best Practices: Delivered SOP templates for five core processes and produced a comprehensive exit report evaluating team member performance and future leadership capabilities.
Partnership with Operations: Actively partnered with Operations counterparts to ensure buy-in for process changes and optimize the flow of information across departments. This cross-functional alignment was essential to improving timeliness and accuracy in the close process.
Impact & Results
Reduced Close Timeline: Transitioned the close process from an unpredictable 15–30 days to a reliable, hard 7-day close with minimal loss of accuracy.
Capital Recovery: Identified and corrected balance sheet misstatements, unlocking $1 million of capital previously misclassified as current liabilities.
Restored Leadership Confidence: Provided detailed process transparency and restored the CFO’s trust in the finance numbers and team.
Sustainable Value: Equipped the organization with actionable KPIs, a prioritized roadmap for future automation, and identified high-aptitude team members to drive ongoing performance.
